Hello Friends in Christ,
As cases continue to rise and be prevalent within Sweetwater County we will continue observing Phase 1 where worship is online this weekend (All Saints', November 1st). When cases are on the decline for 14 days we will once again return to Phase 2 where we can meet in-person for the Divine Service.
I do ask your patience in this difficult time. Remember that God is faithful. We have the promise that God speaks through his Word--and yes, even the online services are a "vehicle of the Word." That is, God's joy, grace, love, kindness, and forgiveness expressed in Jesus Christ. Depend on this and on nothing else as we journey together. For the promise is the one thing that will not fail us. For now, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thess. 5:16-18). Remember that you are stewards of the Word to one another with "mutual conversation and consolation." Even in time of physical distancing, we are blessed to have many ways to communicate with one another such as letter writing, phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media. You are each a means to each other by which God keeps us in his grace. Though we social distance in order to preserve life, do not fear, for that distance does not keep God's grace from you.
